My time in Pitinga was short, but dang, was it sweet! The hubby and I were walking around the Quadrado in Trancoso, and he was incredibly sun burned, so we had spent most of the day taking photos around town (bless his heart!). Around 3pm he turned to me and said we should go try another beach he had read about, called Pitinga. A benefit of having rented a car was that we could do just that. I put it on my GPS, and Pitinga was only 30 minutes away. The dirt roads were horrible, and we probably wouldn’t have made it had it been raining, but 30 minutes later we arrived. We parked at the top of the hill, for free. If you drive to the parking lot, I believe the price was $30 reais.
If you walk a little ways, past all the beach restaurant shacks, you reach this spot, where one side is beach, and the other is river (and the water is oh so warm!). The view is breathtaking!
All restaurants closed their doors at 4pm, so don’t plan on coming here and staying for dinner!
